BACKGROUND and PHILOSOPHY
My name is Mark Rogers and I’m the founder of Impression Recording Studio established in 2020 in Niagara Falls, Canada. It’s a hybrid analog/digital studio, where the recording environment has been re-imagined to once again capture inspired human expression. As a musician myself, I like to record with vintage analog gear and all its classic, unique (and sometimes quirky) characteristics.
I began my recording career in 1985 during the early days of the home studio revolution using nothing more than a 4-track recorder in my friend’s basement. Business and technology grew rapidly, and by 1995 I had joined forces with Rainbow Studio, a hallowed institution in Niagara Falls, acting as studio manager and producer until 2004. Since then I’ve been recording and touring with my bands LMT Connection and Newworldson, travelling the world and working with some of the finest studios and engineers on the planet. I am humbled to say we have created 8 critically acclaimed albums garnering 4 Juno nominations, 11 GMA awards and 2 ASCAP awards that continue to resonate with a worldwide audience.
I’m excited to be joined by my son, Myles Rogers, who grew up in our household surrounded by musicians, bands and Artists. Starting at a young age, he accompanied me to different studios and recording sessions, instinctively absorbing what it takes to create and record music. Taking these early experiences and finding his own way of doing it, Myles embraced the DAW revolution and has become a seasoned producer, musician, programmer, and songwriter, tirelessly devoted to the Artist’s authentic vision.
Together, our worlds embrace both analog and digital ways of creating, forging a sound that draws inspiration from the past, and the future. We look forward to working and sharing the gift of recorded music with all the Artists that step through these doors.
